AGA - Operations Section Fall Committee Meetings & Related Events

The AGA O&E committees work together to anticipate, plan for and meet the operational challenges of the natural gas industry. Committee products include technology transfer (e.g., publications and workshops), operation processes (e.g., best practices, standards development), regulatory input and influence, and professional development. Committees provide a forum for industry professionals to pool their collective knowledge to improve the state of operations, maintenance, engineering, and the technological aspects of transporting, storing, distributing, measuring and utilizing natural gas. Individual committee meeting agendas will be available by the end of July. #AGA

AHRI - Leadership Forum

AHRI will welcome hundreds of members, staff, and invited association guests to the La Quinta Resort and Club Palm Springs, CA, from November 17 to 19 for the 2024 AHRI Leadership Forum. This is the premiere association event at which HVACR industry colleagues engage on pressing issues, while taking the opportunity to network in relaxed and beautiful settings. #AHRI

This first of its kind event will unite ERG leaders from across the industry to 1) building relationships with and learning from those who lead similarly focused ERGs across the sector, and 2) strengthening ERGs through sessions professionally facilitated by The ERG Homegirl,   Maceo Owens , founder of   The ERG Movement . The series will kick off in September and October with virtual learning sessions and culminate with in-person learning, networking, and deep-dive programming on November 18th, in conjunction with the CEWD Workforce Development Summit (see here for   CEWD’s Workforce Development Summit program ). If you are an APGA member and are not eligible for the $100 CEWD member registration fee, as an association partner, CEWD offers a $50 discount off the $200 non-member fee. ESC - Improving Your Productivity in the Workplace (Virtual)

The Energy Solutions Center is offering its 5th training webinar in conjunction with Vicki Flesher with InterAct Training Group on November 14th at 2PM Eastern. GCI - Gas Measurement Fundamentals & EFM Best Practices

The importance of measurement cannot be overstated, and this course provides participants a solid foundation to understand the impact of not following industry standards and best practices for measurement certainty. Seemingly minor discrepancies can have far-reaching results: adverse impact to revenue, noncompliance issues, breach of contracts, and possible litigation, so the need for accurate measurement is imperative. This training is also considered the first week of our two-week Gas Measurement Fundamentals Certification course. <Participants can enroll for both weeks consecutively or split the weeks over time.> By attending this instructor-led course, participants can return to their jobs and immediately apply the knowledge gained. GCI - Fundamentals of Liquid Measurement

Virtually all hydrocarbons are bought and sold by volume; however, variations in component content and shrinkage due to molecular variation make it impossible to measure NGLs by volume. Measuring NGLs by mass, and subsequently calculating component volumes, demands accuracy and intimate knowledge of the processes involved. Learn the basics of properly measuring liquid to help your company control loss. Included is a brief history of flow measurement technology, various methods of liquid flow measurement currently in use, what can affect measurement accuracy and repeatability, and what to consider when selecting flow instrumentation for a particular application. By attending this instructor-led course, participants can return to their jobs and immediately apply the knowledge gained. Participants will receive a certificate of completion. #GCI

GCI - Advanced Fundamentals of Liquid Measurement

For participants who have completed our Fundamentals of Liquid Measurement course or for personnel who need to expand their on-the-job knowledge, this training provides a greater understanding of balance relationships through a combination of reviewing fundamental theories and examination of real-world case studies of volume and mass systems. Participants are given a factual case of measurement imbalance with supporting data to perform an investigative analysis and a systematic recommendation to resolve the imbalance and then to present their findings. Leak Investigation Training

For service & gas technicians, mechanical engineers, pipe fitters, inspectors & supervisors. Delivered by David Zak of AEGIS Insurance Services, the training covers all aspects of inside and outside leak emergencies and highlights industry-standard procedures and best practices. Case studies are used to reinforce procedures and provide background on the need to follow company-specific operating practices. The class also includes expanded product-specific discussion from the major leak detection instrument companies, such as SENSIT and Heath.
