WEI provides nearly eighty-five (85) customized Utility Fundamentals + Insights classes each year, hosted by WEI Member Companies on-site, to provide a unique, individualized training experience for their employees. These courses provide employees with a broad understanding of how the energy industry works and a better awareness of their own roles within their organizations. Gas Utility Fundamentals + Insights is delivered through seven distinct instruction modules: (1) Fundamentals of Gas; (2) Extraction + Gas Transmission; (3) Distribution Operations; (4) Customers + Consumption; (5) Regulations, Codes, and Safety; (6) Emerging Issues; and (7) How Utilities Make Money. Modules 1-6 are delivered in-person through a one-day discussion format or scheduled virtually in two four-hour sessions scheduled over two days.
